After decades of uneven progress, the world stands at a critical moment in the fight against malnutrition and the effort to build resilient food systems. While global aid budgets have declined by an estimated 44 percent, 2.6 billion people still cannot afford a healthy diet, and more than 512 million people are projected to face hunger by 2030. Climate shocks are further reducing the nutrient content and yields of staple crops. The challenge is greater than ever, underscoring the urgent need for collective action.

Despite these challenges, our work is making a meaningful difference. By 2025, over 650 million people across the 13 countries where we operate were consuming nutritious biofortified foods—an 11 percent increase from the previous year. This includes approximately 25 million rural farming households producing and consuming more nutritious foods.*

Smallholder farmers and locally owned SMEs are at the center of our scaling approach. By growing and selling climate-resilient, nutritious crops, they strengthen livelihoods, build resilience, and improve community health.
