Celebrated chef, author, and Padma Shri awardee Sanjeev Kapoor has been recognized as one of the Top Agri-Food Pioneers of 2025 by the prestigious World Food Prize Foundation. Known for bringing Indian cuisine to households around the world, Chef Kapoor is now using his influence in a transformative way—partnering with HarvestPlus Solutions to fight childhood malnutrition through the power of nutritious food.

In March 2025, HarvestPlus Solutions announced Chef Kapoor as a key champion of Nutri Pathshala, a flagship initiative that integrates biofortified foods into school meals while building nutrition literacy among children. His involvement underscores a deeper philosophy he has always carried: food is more than just taste—it’s a vehicle for dignity, knowledge, and positive change.

Chef Kapoor’s journey from humble beginnings to household name has been driven by a passion to make healthy eating accessible and enjoyable. With Nutri Pathshala, he brings that passion into classrooms and communities, transforming how young people experience and understand nutrition.

An example of this vision, Nutri Pathshala has already served more than 3 million nutritious meals and is empowering thousands of schoolchildren, parents, teachers, and farmers across India. With a blend of traditional Indian flavors and modern nutrition science, the program serves familiar foods—like bhakri and ladoos—reimagined with nutrient-rich ingredients. His creative touch ensures the meals are not only healthy but also loved by children.

Speaking about the initiative, Chef Kapoor said: “Bachpan se sikhne ki aadat dal jaaye, toh sehat bhi swaad ban jaati hai! Yeh bacche sirf apni nahi, desh ki sehat sudhar sakte hain #PoshanKiPadhai se.”

In recognition of its impact, Nutri Pathshala was honored in March 2025 by the Government of Uttar Pradesh for its contribution to the state’s Poshan Abhiyaan (National Nutrition Mission). Officials praised the program as a “game-changer” and credited Chef Kapoor’s involvement with making nutrition education both effective and engaging.

Building on this momentum, Chef Kapoor has now been selected to join the 2025 Top Agri-Food Pioneers (TAP) cohort. This distinguished group, curated by the World Food Prize Foundation, honors global trailblazers who are reshaping food systems. As part of this recognition, he will be featured at the Norman E. Borlaug International Dialogue in Des Moines, Iowa, from October 21–23, 2025—joining fellow leaders to spotlight innovative, nutrition-smart solutions for a better future.
